It is so good for me here!
First of all… these prawns are mmmmmm! But cleaning them took me back to my Freedom days. Remember that Omar?!Gotta love a colorful setting :”) Today I found some plastic wares from Japan that make your rice into cute shapes :”) And that Fish is FRESH HALIBUT with a soy flour crust I made myself! Stephanie and Cathi? I made my baby a desk so he can do his internet thing… :”)…and a work table for his art making self!also one for me, covered in canvas for when i get dirty :”) i look forward to getting back in touch with the clay! all three of the tables were made with found pallets and alley wood!
Something to fill the time in between projects… desperately overworked stands for my Sake Sets. Made from the ends of found pallets… I made the table too long and so cut an end off, and voila! :”) Some upholstery tucks and string work. I think I’m gonna do them again and make a lamp out of it…. stay tuned.
Local meat from the PCC. I used the pulp from after juicing carrots to “beef” up the meat… it is such a great idea!!! I strongly suggest everyone out there to do it!!! So juicy!!!
It really can take a while to get anywhere with views like these… this is but a 10 minute walk from our place… that’s looking out West toward the OLYMPICS and the Puget Sound.
The bluest Fairy lives down on 23rd!Those two bridges will take you to and bring you from Chicago :”) I-90 E and W.Pottery is sold here! I was texting with a fellow potter (ahem!) when I stumbled upon it. Will definitely be going back there when it’s open…
This chair, as lovely as it is… needs some help! This is the next project for sure!!! And I just heard of a place down the street from Pacific Feather Co. behind Pacific Iron and Metals… It’s called Pacific Fabrics :”) BIG LINEN REMNANT TABLE!!!
Pillow cases for the family :”)and now a quilt for my newest niece Alana… who just turned 4 months :”) I miss her so much! and i can see why people get crazy with the patchwork.. it gets addicting!
the slugs will distract me though…
I was chosen, along with 49 other artists, to participate and help celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Winnetka Community House by decorating a [2 1/2′ fiberglass] STAR! They have partnered me with the Hadley School for the Blind! I am just getting started and am using that one semester of upholstery! Hope you like the sneak peek pics of the process :”) I guess I should have taken a photo of it before I started working on it… oh well
“Inspiration for your star sculpture:” ‘I THOUGHT PRIMARILY OF THE ORGANIZATION I WAS PAIRED WITH AND SO WANTED IT TO BE EXTREMELY TACTILE. THE DYNAMIC DIMENSIONAL QUALITY MIXED WITH THE COLORS ARE FOR THOSE BLESSED WITH THE GIFT OF SIGHT.’
